正しいPU靴成形機の選び方

If you are looking to invest in or upgrade your polyurethane shoe factory, picking the right PU shoe moulding machine is no armchair mechanical engineering project — it impacts production efficiency, product quality and long-term cost of ownership.

There are many configurations to choose from out there: rotary, DIP machines, double density, different degrees of automation.

On paper they may look more or less the same.

In practice the machine starts running the differences becomes apparent.


In this guide we explain what really matters when choosing a PU shoe moulding machine for an actual factory setting.


1. Think About Your Product Before the Machine

Before you even being comparing PU shoe moulding machines you need to be clear about what you are going to be producing.

Different products will need different configurations :

  • PU safety shoes (double density) → require double density PU shoe machine or rotary moulding system
  • PU rain boots → need a specialized rain boot production line
  • casual or single density footwear → a simpler PU moulding machine is sufficient

ADIP: The Big Picture

If your output is really big, a rotary PU shoe moulding machine will suit you better.

There’s a much bigger foot printed area per unit sent into the process, and you’ll be needing hundreds or thousands if your output is destined primarily for export.

The DIP system makes things a little easier if you want to test the waters or produce mores design variations.

A much smaller spend is needed too, but be cautioned, making that sort of foray into the market is no guarantee to sell.


3. Do Not Compromise With A PU Mixing Head

Most of the buyers we come across pay insufficient attention to the actual PU mixing head, focussing instead on PS and size or number of stations. Uh-oh, big error.

Some dreadful mixing enemies include (definitely not resticted to):

  • poor distribution of final product throughout mould.
  • bubbles or defects in sole as a result.
  • density problems.
  • material wastage

What to look for:

  • stable high-pressure mixing.
  • easy cleaning.
  • non gouden egg throwing proprietary head used for long periods and proven.

4. Material Compatibility Is Key

Even if specs look OK along with, the price, double check what actual material it is intended for use with.

Your machine must fit with your raw material system:

  • PU standard materials.
  • PU foaming solutions that are eco-friendly.
  • BASF Haptex or water-based.

Not every PU shoe machine works well with every PU.

If you want to move towards sewage backgrounds and green polyurethane, hold off signing anything you don’t confirm.You don’t want to be forced into swapping out entire components later. That gets really expensive, really fast.


5. Automation Level – Do Not Overbuy

Fully Automated PU production lines look great, but do you really need them in every factory?

Think About:

  • your labor cost
  • operator skill level
  • How many pairs you making with this PU machine?
  • Whether you can maintain it or not

A fully automated PU equipment solutions should match your scale.

In a lot of cases, factories find a semi-automatic (but stable and great to run) PU equipment is a better fit.


6. After-Sales Support are Part of the Machine

A lot of buyers get this wrong.

A PU shoe moulding machine isn’t just something you drop in.

You might also need:

  • installation commissioning
  • support and parts
  • operator training
  • troubleshooting support and maintenance

Ask your supplier:

“Do you offer remote troubleshooting for PU machine?”

“Is operator training included?”

“Can you support the repair and maintenance of mixing head PU machines?”

“Do you offer retrofitting for old PU machines later?”

A cheaper machine without support means costly replacements later on.


7. Plant Production Layout and Turnkey Capability

You also may need:

  • plant layout
  • auxiliary equipment
  • material flow and all that.

This is why many buyers will only trust a PU production turnkey project or a full PU manufacturing plant solution now.

You want to work with suppliers who also can give you:

  • polyurethane processing plant layout
  • integrated PU machinery system
  • start-to-finish guidance

8. Don’t Look for the Lowest Price

Low price means somewhere you made a compromise.

  • Thin parts
  • limited stability
  • poorly supported
  • short life

The PU shoe machine is a long-term capitalization.

You want to be looking at cost per new pair made, not just price you paid for PU equipment.
