Customer Background

The client is a local professional manufacturer of polyurethane rail transit components in Uruguay, with 16 years of experience in R&D and production of polyurethane rail pads and under-rail elastic pads for railways, intercity rails and South American commuter rail systems. Its core customers include the National Railways of Uruguay, regional rail operators in South America and heavy-haul railway projects in Latin America. All products must comply with international general rail standards and meet the requirements of DIN 7196 and EN 13146, with mandatory requirements on dynamic fatigue, low-temperature toughness, dimensional accuracy, long-term deformation and halogen-free environmental protection.

The enterprise’s original semi-automatic production lines had hardware bottlenecks in high-load elastic stability, precise dimensional control, wide-temperature adaptability and full-process data traceability, failing to meet the batch consistency and stable supply requirements of high-end customers such as the National Railways of Uruguay. It urgently needed an intelligent production line upgrade by Haifeng Automation.

Project Overview

A high-end rail pad manufacturer in Uruguay had long been plagued by core bottlenecks including fluctuating elastic modulus, insufficient fatigue life, unstable performance and lack of closed-loop process control, making it difficult to pass the annual audit and batch supply certification of the National Railways of Uruguay.

Based on the industry demands of international rail standards, stable molding of heavy-duty high-elastic polyurethane and precise dimensional control, Haifeng Automation customized 3 sets of JJF-G series dedicated high-pressure foaming production lines for the client. Uneven mixing of traditional equipment led to fluctuating elastic modulus and sparse cell structure of the pads. The dynamic fatigue life could not reach the mandatory railway standard of 3 million cycles without damage, and deformation, cracking and elasticity loss easily occurred under high load.
